Youth Overnight Group Leader (Part-Time)
SAN DIEGO, CA
The USS Midway Overnight Adventure Program takes guests on an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour of the museum and provides hands-on experiences while onboard a historic aircraft carrier. The Overnight Adventure Program is looking for individuals who are interested in educating and engaging with youth in a fun and entertaining setting. Position Summary:
- Hourly Pay Rate: $19/hr
- Work shift hours are 5 pm-10:15 pm and 5:30 am – 10:30 am the following day on either Friday-Saturday or Saturday-Sunday
- 10 hours per week
- Flexible availability required. Days vary based on department needs.
- Lead guests on behind the scenes tours, assist with check in process and provide excellent customer service to guests of all ages.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS/ABILITIES:
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working with groups of various ages preferred.
- No prior knowledge needed. Training provided.
- Ability to explain provided historical and technical information in an entertaining fashion.
- Enjoy working with groups of various ages.
- Candidates must be able to climb up and down stairs and crew ladders, perform light job duties and lift up to 20 lbs.
- Pass Live Scan Background check
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Job Conditions/Work Location: Work is performed on board an aircraft carrier.
- Physical Requirements: Frequent climbing up/down stairs and ladders; bend stoop, and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull/push lift, and carry up to 20 pounds; reach both above and below shoulder height.
