IT Systems Administrator
SAN DIEGO, CA
The USS Midway Museum is seeking a Systems Administrator that is interested in working in a highly collaborative fun environment, appreciates volunteer service, enjoys problem solving and is passionate about making an impact at work. The Systems Administrator plays a pivotal role in ensuring the efficient operation, security, and maintenance of our organization’s IT infrastructure, including but not limited to system configuration, software installations, security monitoring, and troubleshooting.
Position Summary:
- Contributes to build out, maintain, and troubleshoot our virtual, cloud and physical infrastructure.
- Provides secure installation, systems integration, and technical support for the VMware virtual environment and Microsoft Active Directory (AD) and Windows 2016/2019 servers.
- Provides technical oversight and training in the installation, support, and sustainment of Windows and Linux operating systems.
- Supports the configuration and integration of within the environment, to include cybersecurity compliance, patching, and routine maintenance.
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant certifications or a degree in a related field is a plus.
- 5 years of experience in system administration.
SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Server 2016/2019, Active Directory, SQL Server 2016/2019 Enterprise, and MS Office 365 applications
- Advanced knowledge of VMware vSphere, ESXi, vSAN virtualization technologies,
- Evidence of experience with Microsoft Power Apps such as Power BI, Power to Automate, and MS Dynamics
- Security+ CE Certifications, MCSA Windows 2016+ and SQL server Certifications
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.

WORKING CONDITIONS:
- Job Conditions/Work Location: Work is performed aboard the USS Midway in former administrative offices restored to basic working conditions.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to sit for long periods, climb up and down stairs and ladders; to bend, stoop, and lift standard office supplies and small office items.
- Equipment Operated: Computer, printers, fax machine, telephone, copier and scanner.
