Service Technician (Simulator Ride)

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Service Technician to join our team. As a Service Technician, you will be responsible for the maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of our state-of-the-art full motion simulator ride.  Your primary goal will be to ensure the safe and smooth operation of our rides, providing an exceptional experience for our guests.

Schedule

  • Tuesday – Saturday, 7 am start time, must have holiday availability.
  • Pay:  The hourly pay range for this full-time position is $22.00 – $28.00. The rate of pay offered will vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience and take into account internal equity.

Summary of Job Duties:  

  • Perform routine maintenance tasks on full motion simulator ride, including inspection, lubrication, cleaning, and replacement of worn-out parts.
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose technical issues with ride systems, including mechanical, electrical, and software-related problems.
  • Conduct repairs and adjustments to restore the functionality and safety of the ride, minimizing downtime and maximizing guest satisfaction.
  • Keep detailed records of maintenance activities, repairs, and parts used for future reference and maintain parts inventory.
  • Establish close working relationship with ride manufacturer technicians/support personnel to ensure ride is being repaired and maintained to manufacturers specs. 
  • Conduct regular safety inspections of ride systems, identifying potential hazards and taking corrective actions.  Coordinate annual State of California ride inspections.
  • Train and educate ride operators on basic troubleshooting and maintenance tasks to address minor issues efficiently.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:

 Education/Experience: 

  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional technical certifications or vocational training in electronics, mechanics, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in the maintenance and repair of industrial equipment that utilizes motors, hydraulic systems or electrical systems. 

  

Skills/Abilities:

  • Strong understanding of mechanical, electrical, or hydraulic systems, with the ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams.
  • Proficient in diagnosing and troubleshooting technical issues, utilizing appropriate tools and equipment.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment and interact with guests professionally.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail, with the ability to work efficiently under pressure.

 

Working Conditions:

  • Job Conditions/Work Location: Working onboard a former Navy Aircraft Carrier in all weather conditions, indoor and outdoor.
  • Physical Requirements: Navigate up/downstairs; bend stoop and lift to move and retrieve materials; pull/push lift and carry up to 20 pounds; reach both above and below shoulder height. Frequent twisting, bending and stooping, and standing for long periods of time.
  • Equipment Operated:  Computer, electric motors, hydraulics and small hand tools.
